Program Description

Adult Horsemanship is a ground-based program designed to build confidence, understanding, and practical skills around horses. Participants learn how to connect with horses from the ground through safe, guided interaction while developing a strong foundation in horse care, handling, and communication. The program also introduces essential barn routines and management practices, including daily care, safety awareness, and the responsibilities that support a well-run barn environment. This program is ideal for adults who are new to horses or looking to deepen their understanding in a supportive, hands-on setting. All work is unmounted and no prior experience is required.

Upcoming Sessions

Program Policies

Registration Each participant must register individually. Completion of the registration form and required consent information is required prior to participation. Adult wellness sessions are offered as small group experiences to maintain a calm, supportive environment and allow meaningful interaction with the horses and the group. ⸻ Cancellations If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 24 hours in advance so that another participant may join. Due to limited group size, missed sessions cannot be credited toward future sessions. If Stable Strides Foundation must cancel a session due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, participants will be notified and reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule. ⸻ Nature of Adult Wellness Programs Adult wellness programs at Stable Strides Foundation are experiential sessions designed to support relaxation, reflection, emotional balance, and connection with nature through guided interaction with horses. Sessions are primarily ground-based and may include herd observation, mindful interaction with horses, nature walks with a horse, reflective exercises, or facilitated group discussion. While these experiences may positively support emotional wellbeing, they are therapeutic in nature but are not psychotherapy and do not replace licensed mental health care or clinical treatment. ⸻ Group Environment & Respect Participants are invited to engage at their own comfort level. Sharing within the group is always optional. Stable Strides Foundation is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. Behavior that compromises the safety or wellbeing of participants, facilitators, or horses may result in dismissal from the session. ⸻ Safety & Appropriate Clothing Programs take place in a working barn environment and in the presence of horses. Participants must follow all safety guidelines provided by facilitators. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor conditions and movement around horses.
